KU Operations Branded
Docuseries
_edited.png)
The ask:
KU Operations approached my team to produce a series of branded videos that would communicate the full scope and impact of their work to key University of Kansas stakeholders.
They wanted to shift perception and show that they are far more than the people you call at 3 AM when your dorm sink won’t turn on, but a well‑oiled machine keeping every aspect of campus life running.

The Process
After aligning with KU Operations on their goals, I developed a docuseries concept focused on the people behind the work. The hero film, "24/7-365," captures KU Operations as a whole, highlighting the unseen yet essential work across all eight units, while the second episode, "Saving Potter Lake," zooms in on a specific example of their impact.
I led pre-production by coordinating across departments, managing production logistics, developing interview questions, gathering archival materials and writing the voiceover script.
During production, I managed interviews with unit directors and operations staff over the course of a year, while
overseeing on-location filming across over 20 campus locations.
In post-production, I oversaw the editing process to balance clarity with storytelling and ensured each episode felt cohesive while still highlighting distinct perspectives within KU Operations.

Beyond distribution, this series served as an internal unifier for KU Operations. Unit directors shared that the videos helped their teams feel seen, understood and more connected to the broader mission of the university.
