For our final project for our audience experience class, my group and I were tasked with picking a business, product or service that can improve on its audience experience and make three evidence-based recommendations for how to revitalize its audience experience. My group chose True Barre Lawrence, a local fitness boutique in Lawrence. After conducting extensive audience research and analyzing True Barre's current online marketing strategies, we concluded that the business needed to target a segment of affluent, millennial, female professionals in the Lawrence area instead of the Gen Z college students True Barre was targeting with its messaging. Our main evidence to support this conclusion is that the majority of Gen Z college students do not have the means to sustain a boutique fitness membership and will likely not become loyal customers. However, affluent, millennial female professionals do have the means and the motivation to try out and commit to boutique fitness classes. I contributed to this project by extensively researching millennials' fitness trends to determine how to effectively segment True Barre's audience. Additionally, I researched True Barre's competitors in Lawrence, such as Pure Barre, and successful national fitness chains such as Core Power Yoga. This project and this class taught me invaluable lessons on audience experience, most notably, the importance of audience segmentation.
